A video card’s buttons change with its state. A stream has to be running before a recording can start, so the buttons appear in that order: stream first, then record.

Streaming

Not streaming

Press Start Stream to begin.

Streaming

Stop Stream ends the feed, and Start Recording becomes available.MJPEG streams also get Snapshot.

Recording

Start recording

While the card is streaming and not already recording, press Start Recording.

Stop recording

While the card is recording, conclude the recording with Stop Recording.
The resulting video(s) can be found through the file path under “Save Paths” within the Capture Path Settings card.

Activity light

The light on the card tab tells you the state at a glance.

Idle

No light — the card isn’t streaming.

Streaming

Solid — the card is streaming.

Recording

Slow blinking — the card is recording.
