# Accessing the Terminal

> This guide is to help you setup the terminal in dweOS

    Navigate to `Communications/Terminal` - You will be greeted with a terminal
    window and a login prompt

    Click on the terminal view to focus it

    Type the username of the device and press enter. Then type the password
    and press enter again.

    <Note>
      **If using any of the provided dweOS images**, the username is `dwe`
      and the password is `deepwater`
    </Note>

    <Tip>
      It may not look like you are typing in a password, but the terminal is indeed receiving input.
    </Tip>

    The terminal should now be open
