# Quickstart

> This is a quickstart guide to using Discovery for Desktop.

<Note>
  If you are plugging your Vehicle/Raspberry Pi/Other Device directly into your
  laptop via an ethernet cable/adapter/dongle, please see the [Network Setup
  Guide](/dwe-os/guides/desktop-network-setup) first.

Once Discovery is installed, open the application.

Click the <Icon icon="plus" iconType="solid" /> Icon on the dock at the bottom of the screen to add a **Video Card**.

Each **card** has 3 configuration fields and a couple action buttons. Additional information on each of the fields and buttons can be found [here](/discovery/video-card-buttons).

  If you have trouble receiving a stream, allow Discovery through your firewall
  and antivirus, as they can block its access to your network. Also check that
  dweOS is configured correctly and streaming to the right port.
